10th Chozaemon Ohi Exhibition
This event has ended.
At Wako Hall
Media: Crafts, Ceramics
Five years have past since his last exhibition, Chozaemon Ohi holds his 3rd exhibition at this gallery mainly presenting ceramic plates and sumi-ink drawings, as well as various sculptural pieces and Rikyu byobu (folding screen). Comparing to sculptures, Ohi says, "ceramic plates can express momentary beauty, and sumi-ink's dark and light shades are engaging." Animal and plant motifs such as owl and cow drawn with refined lines are combined with different types of ceramic plates like gold and silver and the Dutch style ceramics, in order to emphasize the natural qualities of his materials.
