Although Arimori chooses to work with tempera, a classic medium of painting, his canvases are always filled with new modes of formative energy. He expresses Western three-dimensionality with gold and silver leaves, while provoking shifts in a whole spectrum of colors ranging from Japanese ultramarine blue to red through the depiction of various types of lines, forms, lights and textures. His pictorial surface stimulates the innermost recesses of viewers' minds like the sounds of a classic composition emanating from speakers, resonating with the senses like a mysterious vector.
This world-renowned artist is presenting 30 new paintings of "streams" whose rhythms and pulses transport viewers to other realms.
