The Graduate School of Film and New Media of the Tokyo University of the Arts has been exploring various possibilities of media technologies such as film and computer in the pursuit of unprecedented modes of expression. With the aim of introducing the results of these educational researches, open studio was held quarterly up until fiscal 2007. Held in conjunction with open studio this year is "Media Practice 08-09", the stage for students to present the outcome of their researches on film and media. It's hoped that this exhibition will provide an opportunity for a variety of types of people to acknowledge interrelating issues and trends around contemporary media expressions.
