This event has ended.

The founder of the museum, Muneyoshi Yanagi, started using the term "min-ga" to categorize paintings that were created and sold within the private sector. Among them, Otsu-e and doro-e are considered to be the representatives of Japanese min-ga. Centering on these two styles of painting, this exhibition introduces the appeal of min-ga, which flourished in the Edo period.
