This exhibition features the work of volunteers who have studied at the Cranbrook Academy of Art, a graduate school in America that continues to exert a large influence in the fields of art, architecture and design. The 29 creatives whose work will be on display are active in a wide variety of fields and professions. Cranbrook offers a unique learning environment where students from architecture, design or craft backgrounds mingle on a daily basis, and the works at this exhibition have been nurtured by this meeting of intelligence and technology: a certain "Cranbrook spirit" whose liberal, comprehensive approach to manufacturing and creation reflects deep inquiry into its processes. In addition, these works also hold the possibility of responding aptly to the cultural demands of the future.

This exhibition is the second installment, held for the first time in 17 years. Cranbrook is an institution with a long history whose spirit of creation is inspired and stimulated by a multitude of factors, whose ideas and philosophies are inherited and proudly upheld in a traditional manner within the context of a serious learning environment - in short, an educational community rare in the world today.

This exhibition investigates the notion of "manufacturing" through the lens of Cranbrook's distinguished heritage and history.
