Shintaro Ohata is an artist with a unique touch who captures all sorts of light in his work: light at dawn, light at dusk, city lights by night. A certain wistfulness and longing for somewhere permeates Ohata's painting, inexplicably attracting all sorts of viewers to the scenes and objects depicted in his world, regardless of nationality of gender, appealing to audiences with a wide range of ages.
Ohata was voted most popular artist at this year's international 101 Tokyo Art Fair, while also designed book covers. This exhibition features Ohata's new paintings.
