Multi-award winning filmmakers and media artists Max Hattler (UK/Germany) and Robert Seidel (Germany) will be traveling Japan for five weeks. They will perform audio-visual live sets, give talks and screen their films in art spaces, cinemas, film festivals, clubs and universities all over the country.
The filmmakers met in 2007 at the Animation Exchange Forum at Filmfest Dresden (Germany). The contrast of sharing the same personal as well as artistic interests and exploring them with different working methods made them become friends. Since then they have been developing “Hattler Vs Seidel”, a visual live performance they premiered in the UK at Aurora Festival (“Quite the opposite of most conventional VJ sets, which often seem to function as stylish but lazy wallpaper" - Adam Pugh, Festival Director). Just before their Japan tour they will close the 20th Filmfest Dresden with a unique live performance, remixing the diverse festivals history.
