The colors of koi-nobori (cloth banners in the shape of a carp) are meant to be the same colors as talismans and charms against evil spirits. The colors come from ancient Chinese mythology, where blue stood for wood, red for fire, yellow for earth, white for gold, and black for water.
Nuno Works' carp banners reflect these elements in their five dazzling colors.
