Palestine is both geographically and psychologically far from Japan. Sixty years have passed since Israel was founded as a country in 1948, the year that the Palestinian exodus began. While the refugee problem is still an enormous issue, placing numerous constraints on the Palestinian people, they nonetheless have a life of their own.

Alive today, what do they see, and think of?

Mizue Furui photographed the everyday lives of women and children in Palestine, those who carrying on living proudly under such severe conditions. These photographs are the documentation of ordinary scenes in the lives of these people usually passed over by the TV news.
