"I try to make works using the idea of a window, situated between inside and out, making small changes to it. When a work of art first appears in the world, it seems to be a kind of illusion, and I'm not sure to what extent we can call it a piece of reality. When I work, it's as if I'm searching for a way to occupy a space adjacent to the reality before my eyes, taking into account the location, space, light, and everyday details that coalesce at one point in the present. For this work, I have slightly transformed the gallery window, theinterface connecting outside and inside.When artworks appear asillusions in the real world, to what extent can we consider them'real'? I have used the space, light and everyday quality of thegallery as a presumptive starting point to look for ways to create anintimate relationship between my artwork and the 'real world'." -- Artist's comment
