This event has ended.

Japan has long been a country rich in forest resources, which gave rise to various forms of wooden architecture. Imposing yet finely detailed and delicate shrines and temples and stout and sturdy "minka" folk architecture alike made full use of the natural qualities of wood, winning admirers from all over the world for its expressive subtleties and harmonious engagement of its surroundings. This exhibition features finely crafted models and moquettes, building components and materials that reflect the artistry that went into their making, and other displays that reveal the unique appeal of wooden architecture.
