From the collection of Ikeda Museum of 20th Century Art, this exhibition presents works that have not had much public exposure.
From the Spanish master Dali's vividly created surreal world, and biblical and mythical paintings by Austrians painters such as Hausner and Fuchs, to fantastic paintings and otherworldly nihonga works by Japanese artists such as the pioneer of fantastic painting Ichiro Fukuzawa and Hiroaki Kondo, this exhibition invites viewers to a journey to a wide array of works that address fantasy, dream, illusion, hope, anxiety, terror, and freedom.
