Belgian calligraphy occupies an important place in the world of contemporary European calligraphy. By exhibiting a series of Belgian calligraphic work alongside works by Japanese calligraphers, typographers and other letter artists, this exhibition offers Japanese audiences a broad introduction to the contemporary letter arts.

This is the first attempt at grouping together hitherto disparate genres such as calligraphy, typography, letter cutting and other letter-based art, under the category of "letter arts" as a whole. Concurrently being held with this exhibition is a lecture by Katsumi Asaba and a workshop by Belgian calligrapher Yves Leterme.
