This event has ended.

Animals have been a popular artistic motif through the ages. They appear in many kinds of paintings, in religious or mythical settings, as livestock or as pets. In the paintings displayed in this exhibit they are depicted in a variety of ways, e.g., behaving like humans as the protagonist or in their true-to-life form. Exhibited here are animal paintings from the Hara Rokuro Collection, with all the beautiful qualities of brush and ink on full display. Looking through the eyes of the artists, we are able to enjoy cuteness and humor in animals that transcend the ages and capture our hearts.
