The Japanese Red Army incident, the return of Okinawa to the mainland, the normalization of Japan-China relations, the end of the Vietnam War. These films are said to have paved the way for Japan's "rock era", a Japanese, female version of the iconic American film "Blackboard Jungle," depicting a group of violent delinquent high school girls in their sailor uniforms.
