As a trailblazer of Japanese "story manga" and the founder of "TV animation", Osamu Tezuka flourished in the Showa era, leaving behind a huge legacy of work amounting to 700 manga and 70 animation works. His oeuvre had a significant influence not only on the people of his generation, but also contemporary culture, art and science.
