Masahiko Inoue is a popular long-form manga artist known for works such as "Vagabond", "Slum Dog" and "Real". For this project at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo, Inoue has created an artwork using brush and ink at a corner of the entrance to the museum, using motifs taken from "Vagabond", which is currently being serialized in the Shukan Morning magazine. Although Inoue attracted much attention for his 2008 exhibition entitled "The Last Manga Exhibition" at the Ueno Royal Museum with a large scale work measuring more than three meters across (scheduled to travel soon to Osaka and Sendai), this massive project surpasses any of his previous work in scale.
