This event has ended.
Tomona Matsukawa, who won the 2nd prize at the 3rd art_icle Award in April 2010, is participating in this show for the first time as a gallery artist. Matsukawa, born in 1987 and currently an oil painting student at Tama Art University, is a remarkable young artist who has blossomed in the past 1-2 years. She has had her work selected for exhibitions including Amuse Art Jam (2009), the Toyota Art Competition (2010), and the Ueno Royal Museum Award. Matsukawa will show her recent series of paintings called "around girls", including "Nukegara".
Manika Nagare was born in 1975 and graduated from Joshibi University of Art and Design. Starting with "VOCA 2000", Nagare has been actively showing in and outside of Japan, including the Artist-in-Residency Program through the Japanese Government Overseas Study Program for Artists (NY), Pola Art Foundation Grant in 2004 (NY, Turkey), “VOCA 2006”, “Special POLA Exhibiion : New and Rising Artists 2006”, “Outstanding Rising Artists Exhibition” (Sompo Japan Fine Art Foundation), and many others. Nagare has been working on abstract paintings created by capturing the image of someone she walked past while wondering what was going on in their life.
Tomoni Nitta, who just made her excellent debut with the solo exhibition "Infinite Set 1", and New York-based artist Matt Hansel are also participating in this exhibition.
