This event has ended.

Starting in the early Taisho period, collectors, researchers and antique dealers began departing from conventional notions of beauty and value with regard to ceramics and traditional tea ceremony utensils, and started appraising objects based on their sculptural form and beauty. This exhibition features rare Chinese porcelain pieces from the collection of Koyata Iwasaki, who amassed his holdings through large purchases made directly from the Chinese continent in the 20th century.
