"Designing Yokohama and Zou-no-hana Park" Urban Design Seminar

Zou-no-hana Terrace

This event has ended.

The waterfront spaces of Yokohama were designed over a period of many years with much consideration given to their urban design in the context of the existing city. A long unbroken promenade-like space joins the Minato Mirai Rinko Park, Nihonmaru Park, red brick warehouse area, Osanbashi International Ferry Terminal, and more. The latest addition to this lineup, Zou-no-hana Park, was completed in June 2009.

This seminar, which will be held after a walking tour of the Yokohama waterfront, invites the designers and urban planners behind Yokohama's waterfront area to explain the motivations and reasons for their designs, providing participants with a platform for discussing urban design and city administration issues.
