This event has ended.

Keiko Minami (1911-2004) was born in what is now Takaoka, Toyama prefecture. She spent her childhood engaged in poetry and painting before moving to Tokyo shortly after the end of WWII. An encounter with Yozo Hamaguchi opened her eyes to the world of copper etchings. Thereafter, Minami spent 30 years living in Paris and the period 1982-96 living in San Francisco together with Hamaguchi. Although she devoted much time to supporting Hamaguchi's artistic activities, Minami has left behind her own formidable oeuvre that depicts young wide-eyed girls, castles and waterfront landscapes imbued with a touch of exotic romance.

This retrospective showcases a selection of some 170 copper etchings, oil paintings, sketches and other works divided into two parts.
