Artists

Tokujin Yoshioka
Tokujin Yoshioka has gained international acclaim through an artistic practice which crosses between art, design and architecture. This exhibition offers the first opportunity to appreciate a range of his large scale installations brought together for the first time, with debuts of new work and a showcase of installations never shown in Japan before. New works include “Swan Lake” a painting crystallized accompanied by classical music, the crystallized sculpture “Rose” and “Spider Thread” a chair formed from 7 threads of string, as well as the renowned architectural work “Rainbow Church” created from a crystal prism and various other installations. This exhibition places a stress on creation from nature, pointing towards Yoshioka’s own thinking towards the relationship between humans and nature, which he shares in his process of crystallization.
