Yu Araki “Wrong Translation”
The Container
This event has ended.
Yu Araki’s pieces always contain strong senses of voyeurism and travel, whether they show subjects walking through the streets of Paris with a baguette, waiting at a railway station in South Korea’s Daegu, lurking, or making sausages in Vietnam. The works take viewers on an anthropological mission to people-watch and experience, with a good amount of wit and irony added. These journeys often reveal forgotten historical connections between countries, concoct political links, or reference theory or literature through an intricate web of associations delicately crafted into a narrative.
