Japan Graphic Designers Inc. (JAGDA) organizes the Yusaku Kamekura Design Award, choosing the best work from designs submitted to the “Graphic Design in Japan” annual. This year’s award goes to the Kenjiro Sano’s posters for “Hokusai Inspired Manga Exhibition” presented at Tokyo Designers Week 2014. These posters capture the outlines of Hokusai’s drawings in simple tracing lines highlighting their structures. Sano’s designs have always left cheerful and positive impressions, and with these posters he adds a light touch praised as “a new side to Sano’s work” and “subtle and uncanny in expression.” This exhibition recognizes his achievement in winning the Yusaku Kamekura Design Award.
