Artists

Mitsuo Aida
Poetry is poetry. Calligraphy is calligraphy. First comes the poetry, then comes the calligraphy. Mitsuo Aida’s artistic style was a time-consuming process of draft upon draft to create even a single poem. Upon completion is when he finally picks up his brush. Then he puts brush to paper and writes for days and days until satisfied with the end result. Poetry and calligraphy are completely separate from each other. This exhibit showcases Mitsuo Aida’s unique and uncompromising creative process.
