This event has ended.

The origins of postcards in Japan can be traced to the mid-Meiji era, taking off around the time of the Russo-Japanese War (1904–1905). The Takehisa Yumeji Museum’s second exhibition marking the 150th anniversary of the Meiji period (1868–1912) presents a variety of antique postcards created by adding color to black and white photographs of various scenes and subjects, as well as artistic postcards by artist Yumeji Takehisa (1884–1934), whose outstanding design sense won him popularity among people from all walks of life. These postcards reflect the styles and customs of their era.
