This museum started in 1986 with 5 sculptures and 23 prints by Giacomo Manzu donated by the late Dr. Tatsuo Yokohama of Hachioji. In 1994, Mazu’s wife Inge Manzu visited and donated a further 5 sculptures and 8 prints. The museum building is based on plans by architect Seiichi Shirai.
