Kamakura Gallery, first established in 1980 by Michiko Nakamura in Ginza, Tokyo, is one of the most important and famous contemporary art galleries not only in Japan but also throughout the world. They were the first to exhibit many important conceptual and Minimalist artists in Japan, and organized the first shows of the Japanese contemporary art "Mono-ha" movement in the 1970s.
