Etsuro Ishihara established Zeit Foto Salon in 1978 as the first gallery which linked photography with commercial purposes in Japan. Holding monthly exhibitions of promising young artists, Zeit Foto Salon's collection of over 3,000 photographs consists of both Japanese photography in its early stages and overseas artists.
