Selected illustrations from the Bologna Children's Book Fair 2005. The annual fair this year attracted around 1166 exhibitors not only from Italy but from all over the world.
The Bologna Illustrators Exhibition is one of the main events of the Fair. During its 39 years, it has helped launched many illustrators' carreers.
This year, 2570 illustrators from 60 countries submitted their works to the exhibition. More than 430 works by 85 artists from 16 countries were selected by the 2005 International Selection Committee. 16 Japanese illustrators are among the winners.
For more than a decade, Itabashi Art Museum has been working closely with Bologna Fiere, the organizer of the book fair, to promote this event in the world. The museum sends the exhibition on a world tour after Bologna.
