Antoni Tàpies - Titan of Spain: Defiant Paintings
This event has ended.
Born in Barcelona in 1923, Antoni Tàpies is a prominent figure in Spanish contemporary art and a successor to the spirit of Picasso, Dalí and Miró and other geniuses of the twentieth century. His works, with their strong links to the culture of his native Catalonia and to its tragic history, encompassing the Spanish Civil War, World War II and the political oppression of the Franco regime are deeply imbued with the artist's striving after freedom of spirit and expression.
Works on display consist of some 30 major paintings and sculptures, which will provide viewers a precious chance to experience Tàpies' art.
