This exhibition celebrates the end of the four and a half years restoration period of Korin Ogata's "Iris", a national treasure. The blue and green irises on gold plate, interconnected with the literary world of "The Tale of Ise", is known as a masterpiece throughout the world.
Korin Ogata (1658-1716), whose best known works are "Iris" and "Red & White Peonies", is a symbol of Japanese modern art. This is a chance to experience Korin's ingenious creativity through everything from screen paintings to lacquer work and ceramics.
