これまでのテクノロジーを駆使した（ただし、すばらしいデザインによって、ユーザーにテクノロジーの存在を感じさせない）プロダクトの数々を、まったくデジタルへの変換を通さない写真をとおして”見る”ことができる展覧会。
世界で一番よく擂れる“ダイコンおろし”ってとてもいい響きではないですか？新作の中でも特に惹かれた一品。世紀の大デザインかもしれない。
Yukio Shimizu's pictures are indeed beautiful, moody, striking (extra points for the V.E.R.Y. large printouts) and I cannot deny that when thinking of LED's work, those shots (as seen many times in the past) are the ones that come to my mind first and are therefore partly responsible for the helpless attraction I feel when thinking about LED's legacy.
This exhibition is a nice contrast to LED's Move show held some months ago in Spiral ( http://www.tokyoartbeat.com/event/2005/DAC6 ) where, although nearly no pics of the products were up on the walls, most of the products were actually on demonstration and could be held and manipulated by the visitors. I guess that anybody not able to visit that past show will feel a slight pinch to the heart in being denied physical contact to such perfection.
The (twisted) wish I have about this exhibition would be the possibility to stay over night, and sleep surrounded by such beautiful and perfect products and hope to be ever slightly blessed with Shunji Yamanaka's touching inspiration and vision of our future. 美しい。
