At Matsuya Design Gallery
Media: Product, Other

Fumie Shibata is the force behind products that we are all familiar with, such as the Omron Corporation's "keionkun" thermometer, and mobile phone company au's "sweets." Since 1994, she has been working independently and has become one of the most highly acclaimed product designers.
This exhibition shows 7 types of work that have been chosen out of all the products that Fumie Shibata has made, and explores what is the "real" quality which characterises her design work. By showing these products, providing text and drawings which explains the concepts behind them, the show looks into how we perceive reality and design to be two sides of the same coin and how high quality design gives birth to products.
