Iris and Fujihana
This event has ended.
At Nezu Institute of Fine Arts
Media: Painting, Ceramics
This is an exhibition of Korin Ogata's 'Iris' and 'Fujihana', along with other paintings on 'byobu', or folding screens.
Paintings on folding screens with bold colors on gold backgrounds were the ideal medium to inspire the creativity of artists after the Momoyama Era, fitting in with the emphasis placed on visual effect and realistic views of the world.
Korai ceramicware and other works of pottery donated by Junichi Akiyama will also be on display.
