This artist, who is currently based in Berlin, has been working on his art pieces which are mainly site-specific art projects and performances throughout the world since the early 1990s. When he visits a new place, he starts his projects by picking up anecdotes that even the local people had forgotten about or possibilities that are unique to the context, and develops them by involving people, often even animals. In this solo show, he is going to exhibit poetic and humorous art works, such as “Disappearance and Appearance of Eyebrow” (1991), “Souvenir” (1992) and others. These art works suggest a new possibility for communication, as well as a new value of enriched life for human beings. This show offers a great opportunity to see key art works by this artist who has mostly been shown abroad. The exhibition will cover his works from the early 1990s to his yet-to-be-exhibited art works in Japan.
