At L'Institut Franco-Japonais de Tokyo
Media: Video installation, Art Talk

A talented visual artist, Robert Cahen is considered one of the most significant artists working in the field of video art in France today. He treats images like sounds, organises them and transforms them in order to convey a sense of "withheld time" and thus alter our view of the world. His entirely personal approach to slow-motion and his talent for exploring the relation between sound and image creates an indescribably poetic world.

Time and movement slows down; recorded moments seem stretched and distorted, appearing as apparitions frozen on screen.
