Being blessed with the elegance of each of the four seasons and having entrusted their lives to nature, the Japanese hold plants and flowers especially deeply in their thoughts. In particular, cherry blossoms have been appreciated greatly from time immemorial. The flowers' gorgeous blossoming followed by graceful scattering is thought to be especially suited to the Japanese sense of beauty. As a result cherry blossoms have been chosen by numerous artists as favorable subjects for paintings and literature. In this exhibition, works with cherry blossom themes have been chosen for display in the spirit that they may vie for brilliance with the Chidorigafuchi cherry blossoms next door.

お花見の名所、千鳥ヶ淵のすぐ近くの山種美術館で、「桜さくらサクラ・2007－花ひらく春－」という展覧会を観た（４月15日まで）。 山種美術館は日本画専門の美術館で、春の桜にちなんだ展示は恒例になっている。
