At Tobacco & Salt Museum
Media: Painting, Performance Art
The 167 issues of "Haifu Yanagidaru" that were published between 1765 and 1840 are regarded as the Bible of senryu, satirical Japanese poems. For this exhibition, poems were selected from "Haifu Yanagidaru" with a focus on tobacco and salt. Ukiyoe and illustrations that are related to those poems will be on display to give a glimpse into the daily lives of people in the Edo period.
