From the beginning of written history, people have gained information and knowledge from documents and publications. Encyclopedias and records of natural history contain a wide range of information, which successfully systematizes what human beings have acknowledged. When the technology of printing was introduced, larger audiences came to be exposed to various resources, which eventually contributed to societal advancements.
Featuring various forms of encyclopedias, this exhibition introduces how human beings started to systematically gather knowledge and inherit intellectual resources. In addition, this exhibition presents printing techniques which played a role in the modernization of society.
