Gyokudo Kawai Exhibition
This event has ended.
At Yamatane Museum of Art
Media: Painting
When the famed Japanese painter Gyokudo Kawai (1873-1957) died 50 years ago, his contemporary, Kiyokata Kaburaki remarked "it is as if Japan has lost all of its rivers and mountains." Kawai painted calm scenes of Japan, which remain in the hearts of many Japanese even today.
This exhibition brings together the work of Kawai and some of his most important contemporaries.
