At Collex Speak For
Media: Graphics, Other, Art Party, Art Talk

Olle Eksell is one of Sweden's representative contemporary graphic designers, who unfortunately passed away last April at the age of 89. As a gesture of mourning as well as a 90th anniversary commemorative event, Collex is holding an exhibition of Eksell's work. The theme for this show is "What Is Design?", taking up the call made in his 1964 books "Design=Ekonomi". Through a reconsideration of his work, we hope to resume our response to this fundamental question. On display will be advertisements, packaging, book bindings and other previously unexhibited works, as well as travel sketches. In addition, reissued goods and accessories, deadstock products and valuable picture books will be on sale.

Opening party: May 30th (Fri) 19:00-21:00

Talk event, June 7th (Sat) 16:00
Yuka Yamamoto, who lives in Sweden and is the author of various books including "Works by Olle Eksell" among others, will give a talk on Eksell as well as other aspects of Swedish design. To attend, please contact the venue directly: tel: 03-5459-6378 (Takahashi)
