Tetsuro Komai + Hisaharu Motoda + Toshihiko Ikeda Exhibition
This event has ended.
At Shinobazu Gallery
Media: Prints
Tetsuro Komai was the artist featured in the inaugural exhibition of Minami Gallery in 1956 (one of the pioneering gallery at that time). Komai created the avant-garde masterpiece "Lonely Bird" in 1948.
This exhibition presents Komai's works as well as prints by two artists who learned from Komai at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music.
Hisaharu Motoda (1973-) transforms landmark architecture and sites into ruins in his work. His cool and contemporary approach is highly acclaimed in Japan and overseas.
Toshihiko Ikeda's (1980-) figurative works are accumulation of extremely tiny dots, composing a marginal realm in which the concept of life and death is denied. He has won various awards and prizes, receiving acclaim from critics.
