Self-proclaimed "media rapist" Naohiro Ukawa - who assumes such various roles as designer, DJ, organizer, video artist, art director, writer, contemporary artist, university professor, etc - transcends existing frameworks and tackles the confusion of modern society head-on. Ukawa will play at Club Womb in Shibuya on May 24th.
Co-performing with him will be Loco Dice, who was born and raised on hip-hop and Ibiza, later cultivating a mischievous streak of the streets of Dusseldorf, and working for the likes of Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube. Loco Dice has performed at numerous borderless music festivals while continuing to expand the boundaries of music, promoting a sort of wild, savage groove in his work. Working with a minimal base, Loco grafts tribal sounds and electronica to make a sound entirely his own. This event takes a cue from his first album, "7 Cunham Place," presenting a seven hour long DJ set, synchronized to Ukawa's own minimal VJ set.
