Kim Taek Sang was born in Seoul, Korea in 1958. He currently lives in Ilsan, near Seoul. He holds frequent exhibitions mostly in Seoul, but also outside of Korea.
He is now recognized as a very important artist in the field of monochrome painting in Korea, having participated in the exhibition "Korean Contemporary Art - To Have or To Be," which traveled to Dublin, Lisbon and Hong Kong this year, and "Simply Beautiful," which traveled to Switzerland and France in 2006. Both exhibitions introduced Korean contemporary art to audiences outside of Korea.
This installation at Taguchi Fine Art is his second solo show in Japan. The first featured monochrome red paintings, while this exhibition showcases his recent experimental works using rainbow colors.
