Exprime is a graphic design studio run by creative director Maia Maniglier and graphic designer Tatsuya Oka. This exhibition showcases the unique Franco-Japanese sensibilities of Exprime's creative designs.
The well-received 2007 edition of this exhibition questioned the forms and designs of established, familiar designs, proposing new designs for a number of products based on a return to function. The 2008 show carries on this theme, showcasing innovative designs with a unique viewpoint for familiar objects that we have become accustomed to. The design motif is a coaster - such a banal everyday object that precisely prompts questions like "what is a coaster," leading to a reconsideration of the function and use of this common item.
