11th Yusaku Kamekura Prize: Ryosuke Uehara Exhibition
This event has ended.
In tribute to graphic designer Yusaku Kamekura who passed away suddenly in 1997, a prize in his name was established in 1999 as a contribution to the development of the graphic design industry. The selection and administration of the prize is overseen by the Japan Graphic Designers Association (JAGDA). Every year, the most outstanding work from "Graphic Design in Japan" is awarded the prize.
The winner of the 11th award is Ryosuke Uehara for his work on "Graphic Tools for Fashion Brand Theater Products."
Uehara currently works with Draft/D-Bros. He has handled design for the Hope Forever Blossoming flower vase, Hotel Butterfly products for a fictional hotel, and many other product design projects, in addition to graphics for Panasonic and Unnana Cool Lunch.
Theater Products is a theater-themed fashion brand founded in 2001. Uehara's work for the brand has won praise for its careful consideration of the importance of social functionality and effective visual impact. This solo exhibition by Uehara is a commemorative event organized to mark his winning of the Yusaku Kamekura award.
