Since opening in 1979, the museum has amassed a collection of Edo period paintings with a focus on the Kano school - a single movement that spans its founder Masanobu through Tanyu, the Seisen-in of the late Edo period and Gyosai Kawanabe of the Meiji era. In addition, the collection also boasts significant holdings of Nanpin, Tani Buncho and Hoitsu school works. This exhibition showcases outstanding works from the collection.
