The Egyptian Museum in Cairo, the British Museum in London and the Louvre Museum in Paris are all renowned for their Egyptian collection but the fact that the Egyptian museum in Turin has a collection that rivals those is not yet widely known. The Egyptian museum in Turin is one of the very few museums in the world that specialize in Egyptian history and the scholar Jean-François Champollion who deciphered the Hieroglyphs is known to have said the words "the roads to Menphis and Thebes go through Turin" exemplifying the fact that all scholars found a trip to Turin necessary in order to study the ancient Egypt. This exhibition will present the Egyptian Museum's collection for the first time in Japan. 120 items such as sculptures, mummies, colored wooden coffins, steles and accessories have been selected from the collection of more than 30000 items.

what an amazing exhibit! The quantity and quality of pieces was awe inspiring. We kept asking 'how did they freight it all?'

The kids had a lovely time too

It would be nice to have an English option on the audio tour; we miss out on so much information :(

THANK YOU THANK YOu for having an English hard copy of the exhibit! :)
