Payoon Worachananan has created book cover illustrations for several bestselling titles, and is a popular illustrator who works for advertising and magazines. She is also fascinated by Japanese culture and has been studying at Tama Art University since 2008.

The reasons behind Worachananan's attraction to Japan, according to her, can be found in a condensed version in the Daikanyama area of Tokyo. Soon after arriving in Tokyo, she found a part time job there, and fell in love with the beautiful sense of spatial design in the area that could not be found in Thailand. The more she got to know Daikanyama, the more it revealed its various hidden contrasts: although it seemed like a bustling area, it was also a sort of "small town"; both a shopping area and a residential area; both a trendsetting district, yet filled with old-fashioned shops as well.

This is Worachananan's first solo exhibition, featuring scenes from Daikanyama that were painted based on photos of various motifs that caught her eye while strolling around the area.
